Census 2020 Outreach and Assistance Grant Applications

Contra Costa County is now accepting applications for the Census 2020 Outreach and Assistance Grants through a Request for Proposals (RFP). This grant opportunity is available to tax-exempt organizations, schools and public agencies that encourage participation of all Contra Costa County residents in the upcoming census.

To help support local organizations and agencies that are working to engage and promote the participation of all Contra Costa County residents, the County will fund grantees between $2,000 and $20,000 to support Census outreach and education in Contra Costa County.

Since 1790, census data has been collected every 10 years and is used to allocate billions of dollars in federal funds to support our communities and determine political representation at all levels of government. In Contra Costa County, 42 percent of funding comes from federal and state resources. It is also an opportunity for every individual in the United States to be counted and acknowledged in our communities.

Grant applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, via email to Barbara.Riveira@cao.cccounty.us. All applicants are encouraged to attend the Bidders Conference on Wednesday, September 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Paramount Conference Room, 777 Arnold Drive, Martinez, CA.

For more information about Contra Costa County’s Request for Proposals, eligibility and Census 2020 work and resources, go to www.contracosta.ca.gov/census2020. For questions about the RFP, please call Barbara Riveira, Office of the County Administrator, at (925) 335-1018.
