Concord Health Fair provides free health screenings
The ninth annual Monument Community Health Fair takes place Saturday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Meadow Homes Park, Detroit Avenue and Sunshine Drive in Concord.
This community-based, multi-agency event will provide free health screenings and information about health services, targeting low-income residents, many of whom do not have access to health care.
Free health screenings will be provided including glucose, cholesterol, cardiology, blood pressure, respiratory, vision, hearing, dental, bone density, prostate cancer (PSA) and spinal exam.
The fair will accommodate both English and Spanish-speaking residents. Over 30 booths will provide information on a wide range of services. Children's activities will be provided. Kaiser Permanente will host a Viva Bien Variety Show featuring its award-winning Educational Theater Program, healthy cooking demonstrations and audience participation with prizes.
The event is sponsored by the City of Concord, Kaiser Permanente, John Muir Health, La Clinica Monument, Walnut Creek Host Lions Club, Wells Fargo Bank, Firedoll Foundation, Olson Chiropractic, Contra Costa County Health Services and California State University East Bay. The event is supported by local nonprofit agencies, organizations and businesses.
