Residents encouraged to apply for openings on Concord's boards, commission
Concord, CA (Nov. 10, 2009) The Concord City Council encourages residents to apply for openings on the Design Review Board, Personnel Board and Planning Commission. Deadline for applications is Friday, January 8, 2010 at 5 p.m.
The Design Review Board has two open seats for two-year terms. The board reviews the design of any development for which design review is required by City ordinance and any matter referred to the board by the Planning Commission, Zoning Administrator, or Planning Manager. Members must be residents of Concord. Meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Permit Center Conference Room located at the Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive.
The Personnel Board has two open seats for two-year terms. Members of the Personnel Board act in an advisory capacity to the City Council on personnel matters and, as directed by the City Council, gather information and data, provide written report of findings, and conduct hearings on personnel matters. The board meets on an as-needed basis in the Human Resources Conference Room at 2151 Salvio Street, Suite 350. Concord, CA 94520.
The Planning Commission also has two open seats for two-year terms. Members review developments, tentative subdivision maps, use permits, and rezoning applications as well as administering the city's General Plan document. Applicants must be residents of Concord. The commission meets the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chamber located at the Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive.
