City of Concord offices will be closed beginning Thursday, Dec. 24 and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4. The closure includes five unpaid furlough days and the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

The unpaid furlough days are part of the City's plan to balance its General Fund budget. Employees are taking 13 unpaid furlough days in the 2009-10 fiscal year to achieve the equivalent of a five-percent pay cut.

Police patrol and dispatch operations will not be affected by the closures.

Willow Pass Community Center (2748 East Olivera Rd.) will be closed except for previously scheduled events Dec. 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31.

Concord Community Pool (3501 Cowell Road) will be closed except for lap swim from 10 a.m. to noon on Dec. 26 and 27.
