Cool off during the drought at Concord Community Pool

With hot weather approaching and the drought causing water restrictions, families should consider visiting Concord Community Pool, 3501 Cowell Rd., as an alternative to allowing children to run through sprinklers or splash about in wading pools. Concord's pool even offers a special treat this summer with the debut of two 60-foot-long, floating inflatable obstacle courses.

"We launched the inflatables over Memorial Day weekend," says pool manager Matt Galindo. "I've gotten rave reviews from the families that have tried them out so far."

The giant inflatables are available during recreational swim hours: weekends from 1 to 4 p.m. through June 14, daily beginning Monday, June 15. On June 20, weekend hours will change to 12:30 to 5 p.m. The pool is also open for adult lap swim Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to noon.

Registration is still open for summer swim lessons for children as young as 10 months to adult. Private lessons, diving instruction and aquatic exercise classes are also available. Visit www.ConcordReg.org for more information.
