Concord offices closed for Martin Luther King Day

City of Concord offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The closure includes offices at the Civic Center (1950 Parkside Drive), Engineering and Public Works (1455 Gasoline Alley), the Concord Senior Citizens Center (2727 Parkside Circle), Police Headquarters (1350 Galindo St.), Willow Pass Center (2748 East Olivera Rd.) and Centre Concord (5298 Clayton Rd.). Police patrol and dispatch operations are not affected by the holiday schedule.

Concord Community Pool (3501 Cowell Rd.) will be open holiday hours for lap swim from 10 a.m. to noon.

Even when City offices are closed, the 24-hour self-serve sandbag station outside the gates of the City Corporation Yard, 1455 Gasoline Alley off of Bisso Lane, has everything residents need to make their own sandbags. New this year are two additional satellite sandbagging stations at Lime Ridge off of Treat Boulevard, and at Hillcrest Park off of Grant Street. Sand has been delivered to these sites; residents are asked to bring their own sandbags and shovels.
