Camp Concord benefit golf tournament seeks sponsors

Sponsorships are now available for Dan Ashley's Friends of Camp Concord Golf Tournament, set for Oct. 3 at the Round Hill Country Club in Alamo. Proceeds from the event will send 300 underserved kids to Camp Concord at Lake Tahoe.

ABC7 news anchor Dan Ashley has championed the event for many years, noting the positive effect that learning new skills and experiencing the outdoors in a camp setting at Lake Tahoe has on youngsters who may have never traveled outside of their city.

The tournament draws participants from many leading businesses and corporations. Sponsorships are available at several levels, offering participants an opportunity give back while enjoying a day of fun and networking.

"This is a premiere experience," says Friends of Camp Concord president Dave Goldman. "On the course we will have food provided by Simple Elegance Catering, Slow Hand BBQ, and Fuddruckers, as well as entertainment, plenty of beverages from local breweries and wineries, cocktails, complimentary cigars and more."

After the tournament, the day finishes with a reception, live and silent auctions, dinner, awards, and a concert. Organizers are also seeking auction items, and volunteers to provide support on the day of the event. Players are encouraged register their foursomes as soon as possible as the event always sells out.

Friends of Camp Concord is a nonprofit 501(c)3 that supports scholarships and capital projects at the City of Concord's camp at Lake Tahoe. For more information, visit
