Concord City Council fills vacancies on boards, commission


At its meeting on Aug. 2, the Concord City Council made appointments to fill unscheduled vacancies on the Design Review Board, Community Services Commission and the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund Board.

Design Review Board
David Litty was appointed to the Design Review Board to a term ending February 28, 2019. The Design Review Board reviews the design of each improvement for which a building permit, certificate, or other approval is required and any matter referred to the Board by the Planning Commission, Zoning Administrator or Planning Manager. Community Services Commission
Robert Ferrier was appointed to the Community Services Commission to a term ending June 30, 2017 and Lance Goree was appointed to the Community Services Commission to a term ending June 30, 2019. Community Services Commission members identify housing, neighborhood and social services needs within the community; review funding requests, advising the City Council on the allocation of Federal Community Development Block Grant monies for programs and projects; and monitor the performance of funded programs. John Muir/ Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund Board
Carolyn Fong was appointed to the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund Board to a term ending December 31, 2017. The CHF Board is responsible for governing the Community Health Fund, which is a tax-exempt, 501(c)3, nonprofit corporation and supporting organization to John Muir Health. The CHF functions as a grant making organization. The primary governing responsibilities include vetting, awarding and monitoring grants, establishing grant making and operating policies, approving annual operating budgets, annually evaluating the Executive Director, and annually electing the officers for the Board of Directors.
