Register for Camp Concord benefit golf tourney

Registration is open for Dan Ashley's Friends of Camp Concord Golf Tournament, set for Oct. 3 at the Round Hill Country Club in Alamo. Proceeds from the event will send 300 underserved kids to Camp Concord at Lake Tahoe.

The day includes a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. with on-course contest holes, and numerous food and beverage stations from prestigious East Bay restaurants such as Slow Hand BBQ and Fuddruckers. The silent auction and wine tasting begins at 4:30 p.m., Dan Ashley's band PUSH performs at 5 p.m., followed by dinner, awards and a live auction.

ABC7 news anchor Dan Ashley has championed the event for many years, noting the positive effect that learning new skills and experiencing the outdoors in a camp setting at Lake Tahoe has on youngsters who may have never traveled outside of their city.

Players are encouraged to register their foursomes as soon as possible as the event always sells out. Friends of Camp Concord is a nonprofit 501(c)3 that supports scholarships and capital projects at the City of Concord's camp at Lake Tahoe. For more information, visit
