Recent appointments made by Concord City Council

At its meeting on March 7, the Concord City Council made appointments to the Planning Commission and the Concord Naval Weapons Station Reuse Project Community Advisory Committee (CAC).

Raymond Barbour, Dominic Aliano and John Mercurio were appointed to the Planning Commission to terms ending February 28, 2021; Mark Weinmann was appointed to fill an unscheduled vacancy with a term ending February 28, 2019.

The Planning Commission is comprised of five members. Members review developments, tentative subdivision maps, use permits, and rezoning applications as well as administering the City's General Plan document. For more information about the Planning Commission, contact Planning Manager Laura Simpson at (925) 671-3369.

Colleen Geraghty was appointed to the Community Advisory Committee and Peggy Tweedie was appointed as the third alternate with both terms ending December 31, 2018.

The CAC is comprised of thirteen members and three alternates. Members work with City staff and developer Lennar to apply the Reuse Project Goals and Guiding Principles, adopted Reuse Area Plan policies and accepted Term Sheet provisions in evaluating and commenting on potential Specific Plan alternatives or issues. The CAC also serves as a communication link between the Reuse Project and the community-at-large by assisting in targeting outreach to neighborhoods and interest groups, and promoting participation at workshops and public meetings. For more information about the CAC, contact Director of Community Reuse Planning Guy Bjerke at (925) 671-3076.
