Free class offered for those new to Medicare

The Concord Senior Center presents a free class called Welcome to Medicare on Monday, Feb. 12 from 9:30 to noon at 2727 Parkside Circle in John Baldwin Park.

The class is for those who are new to Medicare or anyone who wants to know more about how it works. Participants will learn when and how to enroll, what the different parts of Medicare cover and what they cost, and how to choose the best prescription coverage based on medications. Presentations will include the pros and cons of Medicare Advantage plans (HMOs) vs Medicare Supplements and the choices available in Contra Costa County.
