Concord Library to close in May for restroom remodel

The Concord Library at 2900 Salvio St. will be closed for three weeks in May to complete a renovation project to remodel and update the public restrooms. The library will be closed from Sunday, May 6 through Monday, May 28, and will reopen on Tuesday, May 29 with regular hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During the closure, patrons are encouraged to use neighboring libraries in Pleasant Hill or Clayton to return books and can request to pick up holds at other branches while the Concord branch is closed. The book drop and pick up services will not be available at the Concord branch.

The City of Concord is renovating the restrooms, adding ADA-compliant features, and installing new wall and floor tile, trim and fixtures. The restrooms will also be painted. The Concord Library operates as a partnership between the city and Contra Costa County. The library building, at Concord Civic Center, is owned and maintained by the City while library services are provided by county.
