The City Council meets on the first, second, and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Concord Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive at 6:30 p.m. Occasionally, the start time may change or a special meeting may be called by City Council. View the meeting calendar online.
Agendas are posted by the end of the day on the Wednesday before each City Council meeting. View the Council agendas and minutes.
The public can attend City Council meetings or view them on Concord Cable TV channel 28 (Comast), 29 (Wave), or AT&T U-verse (99). Meetings are also streamed live from the City of Concord website. View live or archived City Council meetings.
People who would like to address the City Council can do so during the Public Comment portion of the agenda near the beginning of the meeting. This portion of the meeting provides the public with an opportunity to speak on any item or matters within the Council’s jurisdiction that are not on the agenda.
A member of the public or councilmember can pull an item from the consent calendar to allow for public comment on that item. The Mayor will separately call for testimony at the time of each consideration item or public hearing.
The City uses speaker cards that should be submitted to the City Clerk. (Please note: speaker cards are not required; everyone will have an opportunity to address the Council).
The time limit established for public comments is three minutes per speaker, unless a different limit is announced.
The Council Chamber is equipped with a T-Coil Hearing Loop. This system allows “T” coil reception of the audio proceedings. Please switch your hearing aid or cochlear device to the “T”, “T” Coil or telephone position. If you would like better audio reception, a loop receiver that picks up the audio loop is available from the City Clerk.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and California Law, it is the policy of the City of Concord to offer its public programs, services and meetings in a manner that is readily accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities. If you are disabled and require a copy of a public hearing notice, or an agenda and/or agenda packet in an appropriate alternative format; or if you require other accommodation, please contact the ADA Coordinator at 925-671-3031, at least five days in advance of the hearing. Advance notification within this guideline will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility.
